Discipling Groups
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age
Matthew 28:18-20
“2 Timothy 2:2 says, “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.”
As believers in Jesus, we are given the task of teaching the truth and passing it on. Discipling Groups (D Groups) are specifically designed to help the church grow in faith and obedience to Christ with joy. They consist of small men’s or women’s groups of 3-5 people who agree to meet at least 3 times a month. Each D Group works through the same book and meets for spiritual conversation, personal accountability, prayer, and Bible-based learning. We believe that being a disciple involves discipling others and that every believer should be obedient to the Great Commission. The D Group ministry at First Baptist is all about training others to train others and building lasting and meaningful relationships with other believers.”
